Packed cookies with barcodes, cakes by the kilo, pastries by the piece, a birthday cake for Saturday and tea for the person waiting. Dineligent handles each of these on one billing screen, so the counter never has to switch tools.
Start with the Bakery menu template
The Bakery template comes with Cakes (with an optional Message on cake), Pastries, Puffs and savoury, Breads and cookies, and Beverages, with a Counter station and GST already set. Rename, re-price or delete anything after import.
Barcode billing for packed items
Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that types like a keyboard works. Set a barcode on each item in the dashboard, then scan it on the order screen to add it at once. Restaurant billing
Cakes and breads sold by weight
- Tick “Sold by weight (price is per kg)” on the item
- Tapping it opens a weigh dialog with the per-kg price
- On Android, a connected USB-serial scale shows the live weight. A Windows app is coming soon.
- On any device, type the weight in kg, up to 3 decimals
- The bill prints the weight and the per-kg rate
Advance cake orders with deposits
Schedule a birthday cake or party order from 15 minutes up to 90 days ahead. Add the message on the cake, take a deposit, and the order waits in the Advance list (“Advance order for 15 Nov, 6:00 PM”) until you tap Start now. The deposit counts towards the final bill, and a refund is recorded if the order is cancelled.
Track expiry and cut waste
Record a best-before date when you receive cream, butter or chocolate. The Expiring soon list shows each lot with the stock left and the products that use it, so you can plan specials before it goes off. Record waste with a reason, or write off unsold portions of a product, and see it all in the Consumption report. Inventory and recipes
Prices that include GST
Many bakeries show final prices on the counter. Switch on inclusive pricing for the outlet and the bill prints “Prices include GST”, with the taxable value worked out for you. GST billing
Show the menu and the total to the guest
A TV menu board shows today’s items with prices and marks sold-out items at once. A customer display shows the order and an exact-amount UPI QR. UPI payments
Know your margins
Recipes for cakes and breads deduct flour, sugar, butter and cream from every sale, even offline. The Food cost report shows food cost % for each product, so you can price with confidence. Reports

Can I bill packed bakery items by barcode?
Yes. Set a barcode on each item and scan it with any keyboard-style USB or Bluetooth scanner to add it at once.
Can I sell cakes by weight?
Yes. Mark the item as sold by weight. Use a connected scale on Android or type the weight on any device, and the bill shows the weight and per-kg rate.
Can I take advance cake orders with a deposit?
Yes. Schedule the order up to 90 days ahead, add the message on the cake, take a deposit, and it counts towards the final bill.
