CGST and SGST, or IGST, decided by your outlet’s state
Each outlet has its GST state code. Dineligent uses it on every bill:
- Same state: CGST + SGST, half each
- Other state: IGST at the full rate
- 0% items: no tax components
Bills, the Z-report and GST reports all show the breakup by rate.
Your GST rates, your way
Tax groups
Put each menu item in a tax group such as GST 5% or GST 18%.
Rates you choose
The default list is 0%, 5%, 18% and 40%. Add rates like 12% or remove ones you don’t use, up to 12 rates.
Safe changes
A new rate applies to bills from now on. Past bills keep the tax they were made with, and a tax group still in use can’t be deleted.
Prices with or without GST
Exclusive
Common in restaurants: GST is added on top of the menu price.
Inclusive
Common in QSRs and bakeries: the menu price is the final price, and the taxable value is worked out from it. The bill prints “Prices include GST”.
You choose per outlet. POS for QSRs · POS for bakeries
GST on service, packaging and delivery charges
| Charge | Applies to | GST |
|---|---|---|
| Service charge (% of the value after discount) | Dine-in | Its own GST rate |
| Packaging charge (flat ₹) | Takeaway and delivery | Its own GST rate |
| Delivery charge (flat ₹) | Delivery | Its own GST rate |
Accurate to the paisa, every time
Dineligent never uses rough decimal maths for money. Everything is worked out in whole paise:
- A bill discount is shared across lines in proportion, and the shares always add up exactly
- GST is worked out per line, after its share of the discount
- Rounding is half-to-even, so it doesn’t drift upwards over thousands of bills
- Round-off to the nearest rupee shows as its own line, or you can switch it off per outlet
- Complimentary items are ₹0 with no GST
The POS, the owner dashboard and the reports run the same rules, so they always agree to the paisa.
A complete GST tax invoice on every bill
Every bill prints as a TAX INVOICE with:
- Your outlet’s or brand’s legal name, address, GSTIN and FSSAI licence number
- A unique, gapless invoice number per device and financial year, such as C1-2627-000123 for FY 2026-27
- Date and time in IST
- Each line with quantity, rate and amount
- Taxable value and the CGST, SGST or IGST breakup by rate
- Round-off and total
- The buyer’s name and GSTIN on B2B bills

No gaps in your invoice series
Gapless, even offline
Each device bills from its own series, so numbers stay gapless offline and across several counters. Offline POS
Never reused
A voided or reopened bill keeps its number, marked void, so auditors see a complete series.
Full register
Reports › Invoices shows each series’ first and last number and every invoice with its status. Duplicate reprints are clearly marked.
B2B GST bills for business customers
Switch on “GST bill for a business” and enter the buyer’s GSTIN (validated, 15 characters) and legal name. They print on the bill so the buyer can claim input tax credit, and reports show B2B taxable value separately for GSTR-1.
Reports your CA will thank you for
GST report
Taxable value, CGST, SGST, IGST and total GST by rate, plus B2B, for any dates.

Several brands, several GSTINs
Cloud kitchens and multi-brand outlets can give each brand its own legal name, bill header and invoice series, such as C1K-2627-000001. POS for cloud kitchens
GST billing questions
Does Dineligent apply CGST and SGST or IGST automatically?
Yes. It uses your outlet’s GST state code: CGST + SGST for the same state, IGST for another state.
Can my menu prices include GST?
Yes. Choose inclusive or exclusive pricing per outlet. With inclusive prices, the taxable value is worked out from the menu price and the bill says Prices include GST.
Are invoice numbers gapless when billing offline?
Yes. Each device bills from its own series per financial year, so numbers stay gapless offline and across several counters. Void numbers are kept, never reused.
Can I make a B2B bill with the customer’s GSTIN?
Yes. Add the buyer’s GSTIN and legal name to the bill. Reports show B2B taxable value separately for GSTR-1.
Does Dineligent file my GST returns?
No. Dineligent gives you rate-wise GST reports, B2B totals, an invoice register and a Tally export, ready for you or your CA to file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
Are HSN codes printed on bills?
Not yet. HSN/SAC codes can be stored through the menu import, and printing them on bills and reports is coming soon.
